Sharing the impact of research on patient health and quality of life is one of the most powerful tools we have to motivate support for OREF.
To help more orthopaedic surgeons understand the value of research to patient care, we would like to stress the connection between research and improvements in patient care and its impact on patient outcomes. Our Communications team is looking for stories from surgeons about a particular patient who you were able to help regain mobility and independence or return to an activity because of research that ultimately made the patient’s treatment possible.
If you’re willing to share a patient story like this, please email communications@oref.org or contact Amy Kile, manager of marketing communications, at (847) 430-5107. Stories will be used in OREF materials and on the OREF website in an effort to demonstrate why supporting research should be a priority for every practicing orthopaedic surgeon. If possible, we’d like to have stories by October 26.
In addition to the story, we would love to include photos* either of you with the patient or of the patient post-treatment. If you provide patient photos, please use this consent form, which will give us the patient’s permission to use his or her photo. If possible, please provide print-quality photos that are 300 dpi or better.
Thank you so much for your consideration. Aiding the understanding of how research advances orthopaedics is one of the most valuable ways you can ensure OREF continues to fund research that contributes to improvements in patient care.
