Brian Shear, MD, Wins Mid-Atlantic Research Symposium

University of Maryland resident places first with iPhone mobility metrics study

Brian Shear, MD, a third-year orthopaedic resident at the University of Maryland, received first place honors in the OREF Mid-Atlantic Region Resident Research Symposium on May 11, 2024. Dr. Shear's presentation, Your iPhone Knows How You Will Recover from Your Fracture, received the highest score from judges. Dr. Shear received his undergraduate degree from George Washington University and his medical degree from Central Michigan University.

Twenty-five residents participated in the Mid-Atlantic symposium, which was co-hosted with Medstar Georgetown University Hospital, Georgetown University School of Medicine and the Medstar Orthopaedic Institute.
