The Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF) announced today that Kyle R. Duchman, MD, of the University of Iowa, has been awarded the second OREF/AAOS Injectable Orthobiologics of Knee Osteoarthritis Grant. Dr. Duchman, who is an orthopedic surgeon and an Assistant Professor of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, will serve as principal investigator (PI) for the study, “Platelet Rich Plasma for Osteoarthritis: Role of Exosomes in Effectiveness.” Joseph A. Buckwalter IV, MD, FAAOS, will serve as co-PI.
Funding for this grant was made possible through the OREF/AAOS Clinical Research Gaps Fund with contributions from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and individual donors.
