OREF supports independent, peer-reviewed musculoskeletal research seeking clinically relevant advancements that orthopaedic surgeons can apply in daily practice to help patients enjoy more of life.
All OREF research grant and award recipients are selected through OREF's independent, peer-review process, which is modeled on the process used by the National Institutes of Health.
Academic Year 2009 - 2010 OREF will invite applications for 2010 funding for qualified, clinically relevant orthopaedic research and education projects as grants and awards are funded.

More OREF Symposia for Residents in 2009 Made possible by educational grants from BIOMET and Synthes/Synthes Spine
More residents have the opportunity to participate in OREF’s 12th annual spring Resident Research Symposia in 2009. OREF added five symposia, for a total of eight, thanks to educational grants from Biomet and Synthes/Synthes Spine.
OREF’s annual Symposia give orthopaedic residents in U.S. training programs an opportunity to present research papers and posters to a panel of experienced investigators and clinicians. Panels critique and rank the work, and top presenters are acknowledged. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TOP PRESENTERS recognized below.
