"The AAOS/OREF Clinician Traveling Fellowship Program provided me with the unique opportunity to work closely with an experienced team of health outcomes researchers. My mentors provided me with valuable training and helped me develop and write an NIH grant proposal. The mentorship and experience I gained through this program was invaluable, and has helped me begin to pursue my goal of becoming an independently funded health services researcher."-

" The AAOS/OREF timeline is critical because it defines all of the awards available for career development. I was fortunate in my career to obtain funding from the OREF as well as a local foundation that provided support for the development of my laboratory. These grants permitted me to obtain data that I later used in applications for funding from the National Institute of Health. The timeline shows the feasibility of clinician scientists development in orthopaedics. "
